Language Spoken
The keyholder lives in Verona and does not speak English. She has a relative who speaks a bit of English.

Internet Access
For those taking along a laptop or an Internet capable device (ie. tablets, smartphones, iPads, iPhones), a portable cellular WiFi modem is provided. This is best suited for checking email. Up to five devices within the modem's range have Internet access.

Heating is paid on-site in Euro. Firewood for the fireplaces are included in the price.

Interior Décor
Modern construction home - From room to room, the interiors vary between several styles reminiscent of different time periods. All the bathrooms are renovated with marble tiles.

Interior Amenities: All bedrooms are air conditioned. The living room has three sets of French doors allowing for an abundance of natural sunlight.

Layout Notes: The ground and first floors are not internally connected. The first floor bedroom with two single, joinable beds is slightly larger than the others and is the only one with peeks of the lake. One of the ground floor bedrooms overlooks the pool area.

The main kitchen is on the ground level with 5 burner stove top, oven, fridge and dishwasher. A kitchen on the top floor is equipped for beverage service.

This property is located in a residential community of similar style homes built during the 1960s and 1970s.

No Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside the property.

Parking is free at the property. There are two parking options - a garage on a level below the home and on street spaces, if available.

Steps & Stairs
If parking along the side street, walk 15 feet and up 10 scattered stone steps to the entrance. If the garage is used, there are 20 steps from the garage to the ground floor. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the ground floor. All others require 18 steps using the external stairway.

A portable cellular phone is made available at check-in. The phone is typically charged with 25 or 50 Euro worth of calling time. Guests only pay for the usage consumed. If you require additional minutes, please ask your keyholder for assistance.

Terra del Garda is a very affordable and spacious home perfectly situated as a touring base for northern Italy. Lake Garda is exactly halfway between Venice and Milan and even daytrips into Emilia Romagna or the Dolomite mountains are possible. This area enjoys a micro-climate of semi-tropical weather allowing for the private pool to open in May and stay open until mid-October.

A good choice for families wanting to incorporate sightseeing for the kids - this area has a number of attractions for small children with a water park, theme amusement park and safari zoo all within 30 minutes or less.

All bedrooms are air conditioned. In addition to a full kitchen on the ground floor, there is a beverage kitchen on the first floor.

The private pool is open from the first weekend in May to October 15. Pool towels are provided.

Road Condition
From the highway exit, the driving is along easy paved roads. For daytrips, the road along the shore of Lake Garda is narrow and becomes winding along the western side. Minibuses are not recommended.

A private tennis court is on the grounds. This is a recreational court with some surface cracks. Guests need to bring their own tennis rackets.

Satellite Basic package - A limited number of channels with most of them being Italian. There may be one or two news channels in the English language.

The first floor living room with a furnished balcony and the pool area offer the best vantage points overlooking the town of Garda and extending to the Lake that is seen cradled between two hills. Being part of a residential community, neighboring homes are also within sight.

This property is equipped with a washing machine.

What's nearby
Nearest Shopping and Dining: 400 yards away in Costermano is a small mini mall with a supermarket, pharmacy, ATM, cafe bar and pizzeria. Garda, a 5 minute drive away offers a larger variety of shopping and dining options including outdoor cafes along the lake. Torri del Benaco, a charming lakeside town less than 15 minutes by car, offers more dining options.

Not To Be Missed:
Cisano di Bardolino's olive oil museum demonstrates olive oil production done in this area for more than a millennium. Visitors can taste and buy a selection of locally produced, extra-virgin olive oil and other related products: balsamic vinegar, pesto sauce and olives. There is a wine cellar offering the purchase of local wines.

Villafranca di Verona's Nicolis Museum, a 30 minute drive away, offers one of the most important collections of period automobiles and motorcycles.

The Museo del Vino at the ZENI cantina in Bardolino has exhibits on the history of winemaking in the region with the opportunity to taste the 14 wines made in the Gardesana area. Open year-round Monday-Friday and from April-September on Saturday mornings.

Driving along the scenic wine routes that pass through several lakeside towns and the into the heart of the Bardolino wine growing region. The Museo del Vino is the first stop on the Strada del Vino Bardolino, a well-marked wine road, which includes 46 farms and cantinas where wines may be tasted and purchased.

Drive to Malcesine, 40 minutes away and take a cable car (running every half hour) to the top of Monte Baldo. At the top of this ski area are walking trails in the warmer months with grazing sheep and a few restaurants that enjoy incredible views of the lake and mountains.

Public Transportation: Drive to Garda for frequent ferry service to lakeside towns. Peschiera del Garda, 20 minutes away has train service to Venice in 80 minutes. The Verona Porta Nuova train station, a 30 minute drive, has service to Venice, Milan and Florence.

For Kids:
Gardaland, a 25 minute drive, is Italy's largest theme park with Valley of the Kings - a scaled reproduction of an Egyptian temple, Merlin's Castle, African Safari, Dolphin shows and Barbie World. Located in Castelnuovo Garda and open April - October with daily hours from mid-June to mid-Sept and weekends otherwise.

Bussolengo's safari zoo, a 35 minute drive, is a unique opportunity to get to know and to watch the animals of the Savannah and there is a section dedicated to dinosaurs.

Canevaworld Resort, a 20 minute drive away is a waterworks park that has a Medieval Times dinner show with a jousting match that takes place during the meal.

Parco Grotta, Cascata Varone, a 50 minute drive offers a trail through a natural gorge eroded by a waterfall 300 feet above.

Beach: Torri del Benaco, 15 minutes away has a narrow, pebbly strip of lake front that locals use for the beach. Sirmione, a 30 minute drive away has a larger pebbly beach.

Golf: Marciaga's Golf Club Ca' degli Ulivi, a 10 minute drive, open year round.

Outdoor Activities: Lake Garda has a multitude of watersports and recreation activities available: windsurfing (with several world championships hosted here); diving; swimming; boat rides; and many more.

Open Air Markets: Mondays in Torri del Benaco; Thursdays in Bardolino; Fridays in Garda; An antiques market is held in Torri del Benaco on the fourth Sunday of each month.
