Hale and hearty types will need to ski and scale the deftest peaks. The rest of us merely seek to get our lives in order with simple hearty meals, real breathable air, incredibly relaxing scenery and refreshing country walks.

Fiore Alpino is a newly built alpine chalet offering four separate entrance apartments. Built in townhouse style, the building is divided into three parts. Two of the sections house our four units and the third is the owner's home.

Each cozy and comfortable unit comes with satellite television and a knotty pine décor that reflects a simple and uncomplicated lifestyle. Maid service may be requested when booking.

Both Edelweiss and Giglio are on the ground level and have their own small, furnished patio areas just outside their entrances. Rosina and Tulipano on the first floor have sloping ceilings with skylights for windows in some rooms. Each has its own table and chairs in the shared garden. An outdoor pizza oven and a laundry room are shared by all.

Tulipano has a private balcony off of the queen bedroom facing the rear grounds and overlooking neighboring chalets and mountains.

A 10 minute walk leads to the center of Pera di Fassa with two restaurants, a café and a bakery, all open during the skiing and hiking seasons. During the spring or fall, head to Campitello di Fassa, a 10 minute drive or Canazei in 20 for dining and shopping options.

Skiers will love the trails in Pozza di Fassa, which are illuminated at night. More slopes and shops are found in Campitello di Fassa. From here, you can also take a scenic cable car ride up the peaks of Col Rodella, Belvedere and Ciapà.

Every drive leads to spectacular vistas. Moena or Canazei are reached in 20 minutes by car; Carezza sul Lago: 30; Bolzano or Ortisei: 50; Cortina d'Ampezzo: 75; Belluno or Trento: 90; Verona or Innsbruck: two hours; Venice: three hours.
