Newly renovated, Villa Salvucci lies four miles from the medieval citadels of San Gimignano and Certaldo. On two sides, the villa faces woods teeming with fox, hare and boar.

To the rear, a private pool is set 35 yards away and is reached by a path with a few descending steps. It overlooks hills draped in vineyards and olive groves. A covered furnished patio with a barbecue sits outside the kitchen door and enjoys some of the pool's views as well as the sheltering privacy of the surrounding woods. Villa Santa Fina sits 25 yards away on one side of this home. The two homes are separated by a low wall and hedges. Both villas are part of a large agricultural and leisure estate spanning hundreds of acres of prime Tuscan land.

The air conditioned interiors feature a large living and dining area, brand new fixtures, a professional grade kitchen and a working fireplace. A blend of contemporary furnishings accented with antiques, high ceilings and dark wood accents give Villa Salvucci the feel of an old hunting lodge.

Window screens are in the dining room and five of the six double bedrooms. Five double bedrooms have en suite bathrooms with heated towel racks. The sixth bedroom overlooks Santa Fina next door. The second floor is a small tower comprised of three single bedrooms sharing one bathroom. These bedrooms have small balconies with some of the best views over the estate.

A three hour, mid week cleaning with a towel change is included in the price. Additional cleaning service and meals may be requested at booking.

The estate's English-speaking reception office, nearly a mile away, offers bicycle rentals, one day cooking classes, wine and olive oil tastings and a restaurant serving breakfast and dinner that's open from April through October.

The last mile and a half of winding country road is unpaved and bumpy.

The village of Pancole with a restaurant is a five minute drive away; the towers of San Gimignano or Certaldo with local trains to Florence: 15; Volterra: 40; Montelupo Fiorentino, Greve or Siena: 50; Pisa: 75; Lucca: 90.

A tourist tax collected by the town is paid separately on the first ten nights. Children under age 12 are exempt.
