Mombarcaro is a small town of just over 20,000 people. The town has a rich history as it was once a major trading centre and port. It was also a centre for the mining industry during the Roman Empire. The town has a number of historic buildings including the Cathedral, the Chiesa di San Giuseppe and the Chiesa di San Giovanni.
The town is also home to a number of museums including the Museo delle Muse, the Museo d’Arte Contemporaneo and the Museo Etrusco. The town is also home to a number of festivals including the festival of San Giovanni, the San Bartolomeo Festival and the Salumeria Festival.
The town is located in the north east of Tuscany and is surrounded by a large area of vineyards which are used to make the famous Chianti wine. It is also surrounded by the Cisais and Sibiu Mountains which are in the centre of the Apennines.
