San Giovanni Rotondo

San Giovanni Rotondo is an historic city in the Italian region of Abruzzo. It is a World Heritage Site and a Unesco World Heritage Site. The city’s origins date back to the 5th century AD when it was founded as a Roman settlement. Today the city is located on the banks of the River Pescara and is one of the most important cities in the region. San Giovanni Rotondo is a popular tourist destination and is situated on Italy’s Adriatic coast. It has a long history and is home to a number of well-preserved buildings, including the Cathedral and the Castle. San Giovanni Rotondo has a number of traditional restaurants and bars and is known for its local cuisine, including the locally made ‘tricolore’ pasta.
